Setting Up IMAP Email on your iPhone or iPad

Please Note: These instructions were written specifically for an iPhone therefore screenshots and prompts may not be exactly representative if you are configuring an iPad


1 - On your iPhone or iPad, access the Settings menu

2 - Scroll down and access Mail

3 - Tap Add Account…

4 - Select Other

5 - Tap Add Mail Account

6 - Enter your name as you would like it to be displayed on any messages which you send from your iPhone, along with your full email address and password. Then and give the account a Description which you can use to refer to the email account (this description will only be visible to yourself), and tap ‘Next’. Your iPhone will then verify the settings with the Hosted Desktop Email Server

7 - Ensure that: IMAP is selected; Name is set to your name as you would like it to be displayed on any messages which you send from your iPhone; Email is set to your full email address; Description is set to what you wish to refer to the account as (This description will only be visible to yourself)


For Both ‘Incoming Mail Server’ and ‘Outgoing Mail Server’:

  • Host Name is set to hdcloud.co.uk
  • Username is set to your Account Alias as provided by Hosted Desktop (You may have to request these details from us)
  • Password is set to your email password

Then tap ‘Next’ and your iPhone will then again attempt to verify the settings with the Hosted Desktop Email Server, as shown in the second screen-shot below

8 - Tap the ‘ON / OFF’ buttons to select the information types to synchronize with the Hosted Desktop Email Server. These include:

  • Mail
  • Notes

When you are done, tap Save
